I'm not one of the ["twatty] art students?" you so blithely referred to (for the record I'm a 39 year old Connexions Personal Adviser), but why the obnoxious comment? Did this social strand offend because they didn't exhibit the same degree of self-assured coolness that you've no doubt so easily attained? Did their presence somehow detract from your evening's entertainment? It doesn't sound like it, judging by your review. Such an event is always going to have a large student/hipster presence; the LCC is just over the roundabout. You were never young, dressing to impress - whatever that may mean to others? Grow up yourself.

Crikey, David. You've made a fair few assumptions about me there. I won't be so rude.

In my experience, the greater the level of twatty, pretentious art students at a gig, that are more interested in showing off to their similarly twatty mates, then the worse the general atmosphere is.

I was proved wrong by tonight. It had a high twat factor, but the sheer joy of the evening shone through.

Good review. Although being a long time Hoof fan i've always found them to be incredibly Marmite for the gig goer.

There were a fair number of people wondering what they'd let themselves in for and to be honest the whole vibe was closer to an all nighter than a standard gig, and i think it would have translated better at 3am somehow.

I'm rambling i know, but i loved it, i just think a large proportion of the crowd were utterly baffled.

Which is nice
